Editor's review

A very useful utility for securing files and folders by providing a powerful password lock. It generates passwords and also gives options to configure individual set of protocols for the passwords.

This is a powerful password protect utility developed by AirGrab. Using the tool, powerful, hard to crack or difficult to guess sort of passwords, either can be generated or asked to generate with an individual set of protocols. The tool generates passwords taking into consideration the combination of lower and upper case characters, numbers and symbols. Passwords made up of numbers, special characters and mixed case make the best passwords and are highly secured and hard to crack. The passwords generated in this way require exponentially tough password recovery methods. With this utility, generating powerful passwords is just a click away. While defining the personalized set of protocols, the utility recommends using all the available characters to generate a complicated protocol. The utility also recommends, to keep the passwords lengthy enough to further strengthen it. The utility comes handy while trying to generate strong passwords for access points, WEP and WPA in WiFi networks, websites, servers, routers etc. The utility serves as a one stop point for all the password requirements, irrespective of the application area. As a generic thumb rule, a minimum password requirement is of 5 to 6 characters for standalone applications, 8 to 10 characters for web applications, WiFi networks, servers and routers. You can set your own rules for the tool to generate personalized password or you can directly ask the tool to generate one for you, which takes care of most of the protocols by default. The passwords generated can be customized according to an individual’s thought process and psychology.

The tool generates WEP passwords in ACSII and HEX format. The tool also gives an option to generate a WPA password of 6, 20 or 63 characters in length.

No negative issues.

Overall: Simple and easy to use, yet a powerful utility to end all the password woes. The interface is displayed in soothing color combination and with the said features, definitely deserves a 4 star.

Publisher's description

The AirGrab Password allows you to create random passwords that are highly secure and extremely difficult to crack or guess due to an optional combination of lower and upper case letters, numbers and other symbols. Generate strong passwords by one click for access points, WEP and WPA encryption in WiFi Networks, websites, servers, routers and etc. Including numbers and special characters in a mixed case password will generally create a more secure password, which would be exponentially harder to recover using a brute force password discovery method. You can specify which types of characters will be used in the password. It is recommended to use all available characters to generate a complicated, strong password. On the other hand, passwords with special symbols, for instance, are harder to remember, so you might wish to exclude those characters if you need to keep the password in your head. The longer password you have, the stronger it is. Minimum recommended length of the password is five-six characters. Eight or ten character passwords are just right for most web services. Simple click "Generate" and get your password generated and ready to use! When the password is generated, select it using mouse cursor, copy and paste into the appropriate field. Therefore, these password strings are just for you. No one else can ever see them or get them. You may safely take these strings as they are, or use chunks from several to build your own if you prefer, or do whatever you want with them. Each set displayed are totally, uniquely yours - forever.
